August 30, 2010 - RENT is coming to Trustus. Please join the AIDS Benefit Foundation of South Carolina for a special preview performance of RENT at Trustus Theater on Thursday, September 9, 2010. The show, which has been brought back by popular demand, follows a year in the lives of seven friends living the disappearing Bohemian lifestyle in New York’s East Village. Managing HIV/AIDS, both the physical effects and emotional toll pervades the lives of Roger, Mimi, Tom and Angel. Maureen deals with her chronic infidelity through performance art; her partner Joanne, wonders if their relationship is worth the trouble; Benjamin has sold out his Bohemian ideas in exchange for a hefty income and is on the outs with his former friends; and Mark, an aspiring filmmaker, feels like an outsider to life in general, always behind the camera recording the events, but never playing a part.. July 14, 2010 - The 2nd annual Palmetto Holiday Showcase will be held the weekend of November 18 - 21 at the South Carolina State Museum. The event raises money for South Carolinians affected by HIV and AIDS. It will feature beautifully decorated Christmas trees and original holiday decorations—all available for purchase in a silent auction . April 24, 2010 - YES... it's that time of the year. It's time for Dining with Friends 2010. This years theme is "Dining with Divas." We're hoping that all will participate in making this years event a special occasion. After your evening with Dining with Friends, be sure to come to the finale for some delicious desserts from around the state. The Dining with Friends Finale will start at 8 pm and run till 11 pm. November 19-21, 2009 - The AIDS Benefit Foundation of South Carolina in conjunction with the University of South Carolina’s Tourism and Festival Planning class will be presenting its first annual Palmetto Holiday Showcase November 19th-21st, 2009 at the South Carolina State Museum. This event will include beautiful Christmas trees, wreaths, and ornaments decorated by local businesses and artists, and the public is invited to bid on these items in order to raise money for South Carolinians affected by HIV and AIDS. April 26, 2008 - Dining with Friends 2008 raises $66,910 for the community. The ABF would like to extend it's gratitude to the community for it's strong support.
